New Website !!!

Well it finally happened I got my website up and running. In the next week or so this site will become essentially what it is meant for... a blog. i will no longer show case my photography here. you can follow my portfolio at www.GeorgeCalonge.com. there are links available to my email, twitter and facebook. this blog along with facebook and twitter will be of my day to day findings and a way to track what im currently working on. it's more of a behind the scenes type of deal. well thats all for today but please feel free to visit my new website and let me know how you like... as always any criticism is welcomed with open arms. enjoy

WTF

yea so i recently had my camera stolen. so i havent been on any expeditions around miami... i decided to replace my manual vivitar but i also bought my new canon rebel xsi.. which i can say is a bit different from film.. its a little getting used too...let me rephrase its a lot getting used too... honestly i wasnt too happy at first as it felt the camera had more control of the outcome of my photos than i did... and they seemed a little too perfect and clear... but the more i figure it out in manual mode the more i enjoy it... so expect some more experimentation in the new future... including some more portraits of characters around miami... ive gained access to the dolphins stadium (or whatever its called now) pre game to watch and photograph the players as they practice... ive been invited to the seminole reservation for a sweat lodge... also to a fire house in central florida where i will spend a few days following around some firefighthers and hopefully capture some interesting calls and a few other interesting experiences that ill bring to film..(or rather a .jpg file..lol) in the near future

Beautiful Decay

Running around town i come accross the most random things... and i cant help myself lol... i gotta get down and take the shot... as i was driving through some warehouse district in Miami i cam e across and abandoned train... sitting between two buildings as life and time just passes it by... no one paying much attention to the decaying beauty that calmy sits and rusts between two buildings...

i recently spent the night at my father's apartment to get some night shots and to get the sunrise over downtown.... all these shots were taken from his balcony... none of the pics have been altered in any way.... after i finished the color roll i decided to use some balck and white film to catch a more classic glimpse...
